In our last ‘Organisations Don’t Change, People Do’ hangout, we explored the importance of shifting how people think, feel and act at scale, and what it takes to create shared leadership practices that enable transformation to stick. We spoke about ‘unboilable frogs’ – a mindset centred on people staying conscious, resourceful and intentional in how they show up during transformation, rather than unconsciously adapting to the pressures around them. This is a key meta mindset shift around ‘being at my best’.
Building on that conversation (and equally relevant if you weren’t able to attend), this next session will focus on Lever Two from our Four Levers for Sustainable Transformation: Igniting intact leadership teams and cross-functional partnerships.
While transformation often starts with bold ambition, it is sustained, or stalled, in the everyday habits, routines and relationships of and between teams. We notice that some of what undermines transformation vision and efforts can be leaders sponsoring change without truly role-modelling it; culture remaining owned by HR rather than the business; and collaboration breaking down because teams lack shared intent, trust and clarity on how they need to work together.
